考研英語語法強調句講解

　　一、在謂語動詞前加助動詞do， did， does強調該謂語動詞，構成強調句

　　例句： The president of the National Academy， Bruce Alberts， added this key point in the preface to the panel?s report “Science never has all the answers. But science does provide us with the best available guide to the future， and it is critical that our nation and the world base important policies on the best judgments that science can provide concerning the future consequences of present actions. ”(選自2005年Text 2)

　　分析： 引號內由兩個句子組成， but前一分句是一個簡單句，后一分句為兩個并列句，其中第一個分句中的does表強調，第二個并列句為一復合句，真正的主語為that our nation and the world base important policies on...， it為形式主語，定語從句that science can provide concerning the future...修飾judgment。

　　譯文： 國家科學院院長布魯斯·艾伯茨在會議報告的前言中補充和強調了這一點，即科學解答不了所有的問題，但科學的`確能給我們提供將來可行的最好的指導，關鍵是我們國家和其他各國在做重要決策時應該以科學能夠提供給我們的、對于人類現在的行為對未來影響的最好的判斷作為依據。

　　二、強調句中謂語以外的其他成分時用強調句型(見詞類中it用法)

　　例句： Often it?s the delivery that causes the audience to smile， so speak slowly and remember that a raised eyebrow or an unbelieving look may help to show that you are making a lighthearted remark. (選自2002年Text 1)

　　分析： 該句是復合句，主句it?s the delivery that causes the audience to smile是一個強調句，that a raised eyebrow or an unbelieving look和that you are making a light hearted remark分別作remember以及show的賓語， light?hearted是一個復合形容詞修飾remark。

　　譯文： 這是一種經常使聽眾發笑的講述方法，所以，講得慢一些，記住揚一揚眉，或一副不相信的表情可以有助于表現出你正在做一場輕松愉快的評論。

　　例句： It is the playgoers， the RSC(Royal Shakespeare Company) contends， who bring in much of the town?s revenue because they spend the night(some of them four or five nights) pouring cash into the hotels and restaurants.(選自2006年Text 2)

　　分析： 該句是復合句，the RSC contends是插入語，it is the playgoers who bring in much of the town?s revenue是一個強調句，because后是原因狀語從句。

　　譯文： 皇家莎士比亞公司堅持說，正是這些票友給鎮上帶來了豐厚的收入，因為他們要在此過夜(有些人會逗留四五天)，自然也就將錢大把地花在酒店和餐館里。

　　三、強調句型it was not until...that...

　　強調表示時間的名詞或時間狀語時，常用強調句型it was not until...that...， 意為“直到……才……”。

　　例句： As was discussed before， it was not until the 19th century that the newspaper became the dominant pre?electronic medium， following in the wake of the book and in the company of the periodical. (選自2002年Use of English)

　　分析： 該句是復合句，as指代it was not until the 19th century that...整個內容，分詞短語following in...在句中作the newspaper的補足語。

　　譯文： 正如前面所討論的，直到19世紀繼書本、小冊子的使用之后，與期刊一起，報紙成為前電子時代最重要的媒介。
